Valve Maintenance Program
City contractors are beginning valve maintenance today (2/14) and should be complete in about one week. Main valves will be exercised throughout town and will likely cause discoloration in the water.
Meter Change Request
With the implementation of the new rate structure designating the 3/4" meter as standard, some customers have requested to downsize meters. The City has created a form for citizens to make the official written request. See attached link for copy of form.
Rice Street Water Line Replacement
Replacement of 12" asbestos concrete main trunk line with PVC water line from Cameron Ave to end of Rice St and around corner to Smith Rd. Project begins Nov 6th and takes approx 150 days. During that time, thru traffic diverted & only residents allowed.
San Gabriel Road Replacement
Replacing the broken concrete with asphalt on San Gabriel from Bell to Thrall Street. The project will begin Nov 6th and take approx 150 days. During that time, thru traffic will be diverted & only residents allowed. Disruptions to traffic on that street.
Council Approves Application to TWDB
City Council approved the application to the Texas Water Development Board for $45M to address water infrastructure and quality. This multi-year process will eliminate both the red water color & particulates as well as address the failing infrastructure.
