Airport - Temporary Closure

The H.H. Coffield Regional Airport in Rockdale will be CLOSED on January 26-28, 2019. Airport will reopen on Tuesday, January 29th.

Notice of Controlled Burn

Weather permitting, City crews will be burning brush piles at the Mill Street/City Yard on Thursday, January 17, 2019 beginning at 7:30 AM until dark. Questions should be directed to the Public Works Director at 512-760-6991.

New Customer Service Hours at City Hall

Effective January 1, 2019, Rockdale City Hall will have the following customer service hours available to the public for the Lobby, Phone, and Drive-Thru: 8:30 AM-12:30 PM and 1:30 PM-4:30 PM. Alt payment options: dropbox, online payments & bank drafts.

City offices closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday holiday

City offices, except public safety personnel, will be closed on Monday, January 21st for the Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday holiday. GARBAGE PICKUP SERVICE WILL RUN AS USUAL.

Water Action Group (WAG) Meeting

There will be a WAG Meeting on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 6 PM at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library to receive suggestions from residents and businesses on alternatives for water projects. Rockdale citizens are encouraged to attend.

Rice Street Water Line Replacement

Replacement of 12" asbestos concrete main trunk line with PVC water line from Cameron Ave to end of Rice St and around corner to Smith Rd. Project begins Nov 6th and takes approx 150 days. During that time, thru traffic diverted & only residents allowed.

San Gabriel Road Replacement

Replacing the broken concrete with asphalt on San Gabriel from Bell to Thrall Street. The project will begin Nov 6th and take approx 150 days. During that time, thru traffic will be diverted & only residents allowed. Disruptions to traffic on that street.

Council Approves Application to TWDB

City Council approved the application to the Texas Water Development Board for $45M to address water infrastructure and quality. This multi-year process will eliminate both the red water color & particulates as well as address the failing infrastructure.
